{ Moulin Rogue }

It was that time of year again – and while his own stores were safe, Severus knew full well that the Hogsmeade vendors had absolutely no scruples about what they sold to Hogwarts students. It was an inevitable fact that at least two students per year would be subject to some manner of love potion around Valentines day, no matter what precautions the staff set in motion.
That one of this year’s victims would be Draco Malfoy was frankly disappointing – the child had a natural talent for the art and he should have known better. As it was, Severus held back his caustic reply and instead motioned for Draco to follow him. An antidote would resolve this soon enough – and hopefully before the object of this new found affection found out what was afoot.
“I am glad you came to me, Draco,” Severus mused, horrified to think what might have happened if the youth had gone straight to the woman who was now surely swimming in their mind endlessly. The trouble with this one was it would not be as easily tracked – generally, victims of love potions went straight to the culprit, but sometimes people played…. pranks. Which was the only logical explanation for Draco’s current fascination for one Dolores Umbridge – frankly, Severus suspected a particular Ravenclaw was responsible, but he supposed it could be one of the Gryffindor twins on a lark.
“Why don’t you tell me when you first — noticed this infatuation?” He offered, determined to keep Draco focused on following him rather than tripping off to chase the pink hag herself.
